About The Author
Vivan A. Christman is a strategic consultant, leadership trainer, and founder of Innovative Thinking Group, a company specializing in helping leaders and organizations make correct decisions through emotionally intelligent leadership. Over the last four decades, Vivan has worked across industries—including textiles, power distribution, manufacturing, construction, and global development—bringing a unique blend of practical wisdom, cross-cultural insight, and heartfelt leadership.
From humble beginnings on a ranch in Idaho to executive roles in the U.S. and Colombia, Vivan’s path defied expectation. A pivotal moment came when a college professor questioned how someone with such low academic predictions could become a top student—prompting Vivan to declare it was a matter of “Will, not I.Q.” That phrase came to define his life and leadership style.
In Colombia, he founded UnBosque, an internationally recognized social enterprise dedicated to rural revitalization and sustainable reforestation. Lauded by the Colombian government and U.S. Embassy, UnBosque was built using the very leadership and emotional intelligence principles featured in this book.
